A small island with a short list of high quality courses concentrated on the west coast.
Barbados has a limited number of courses but a high standard among them, most of them on or near the west coast within a short drive of the main hotel strip. It is a destination where golf usually sits alongside a wider holiday rather than driving the itinerary, and where two or three rounds across a week is typical. Some of the best known courses are attached to resorts and access can be limited to guests or members, so it pays to confirm play rights before booking accommodation. Conditioning is generally strong, greens are grainy and pace changes through the day. The dry season from December to May gives the firmest turf, while the autumn months are wetter and quieter.
Best time to play: December to May for dry, firm conditions.
