The Powder Horn Golf Club in Sheridan, Wyoming offers twenty-seven holes beneath the Bighorn Mountains, arranged as three distinct nines that combine into different eighteen-hole rotations. Dick Bailey's routing uses natural creeks, mature cottonwoods, and open high-plains meadow, with mountain views on virtually every hole and firm turf that encourages run-out. The Stag, Mountain, and Eagle nines vary in character from tree-lined and tight to open and wind-exposed, so the day's pairing changes the strategic demands. Semi-private access allows outside play alongside member tee times, and the club has a range, short-game area, and full clubhouse. The season generally spans April through October.
