Black Mesa Golf Club is a Baxter Spann design north of Santa Fe on Santa Clara Pueblo land, routed through arroyos, sandstone ridges, and high desert scrub. The par-72 layout is dramatic and unusually strategic, with severely tilted fairways that feed balls toward or away from ideal angles, blind crests, and greens perched above deep native washes. Roughly 6,000 feet of elevation adds meaningful carry, which offsets the length on paper. There is no housing on the property, so each hole is isolated within the desert landscape. It is public with modest green fees relative to its national ranking, and it plays nearly year-round in the dry northern New Mexico climate.
