Old Works Golf Course is a Jack Nicklaus design built on a reclaimed copper smelter site in Anaconda, Montana, and is one of the most unusual environmental restoration projects in American golf. Bunkers are filled with black smelting slag instead of sand, and remnants of brick flues and stone foundations remain as historic features alongside the fairways. The par-72 layout stretches beyond 7,700 yards from the tips but plays with generous width across the valley floor, with Warm Springs Creek threading through several holes. Mountain air adds carry, and the surrounding Anaconda Range frames nearly every view. It is fully public with modest green fees and a season running from spring through fall.
