Laid out in the early 1900s and redesigned by Geoffrey Cornish in the 1970s, the Samoset course runs along the rocky coast of Penobscot Bay in Rockport. Par 70 at about 6,600 yards, several holes play directly along the shoreline, earning it the nickname Pebble Beach of the East. It is a resort course open to hotel guests and the public with tee time reservations.
