Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 1985, Sugarloaf Golf Club is routed through the western Maine mountains along the Carrabassett River. Par 72 at roughly 6,900 yards, it is known for dramatic elevation changes and the string of holes called the String of Pearls that cross river gorges. It operates seasonally as part of Sugarloaf Resort and is open to the public.
