Valhalla Golf Club is a Jack Nicklaus design east of Louisville and one of the most decorated championship venues in the American Midwest, having hosted multiple PGA Championships and the 2008 Ryder Cup. The par-71 course splits between a rolling front nine along Floyds Fork Creek and a more elevated, wooded back nine, with heavily contoured bentgrass greens and deep bunkering that reward controlled ball flight. Nicklaus built in extensive spectator mounding, giving the property an amphitheater feel that suits large championship crowds. It is a private club with member and guest play, and its conditioning standard remains among the highest in Kentucky.
