Victoria National Golf Club near Evansville is a Tom Fazio design built on a reclaimed strip coal mine, where flooded pits became a chain of dark lakes that border the majority of holes. The par-72 course is regarded as one of the most difficult in the Midwest, with narrow landing areas, forced carries over water, and steep grass-faced bunkering that leaves awkward stances. Greens are firm bentgrass with pronounced internal contour. It has hosted the Korn Ferry Tour Championship for many years, and the tournament setup regularly produces high scoring. The club is private with limited guest play and a strong caddie program, operating from spring through late autumn.
